Virtual Preview, events, Multiple Activities, Intent, finish(), Back.

Projects

Local work, Cloud projects, publishing, remix, output-only sharing.

One relationship, kept visible

XML gives the view an identity. Java uses it. Preview shows the supported result.

This is the core learning loop Kodari is designed around. The pieces are real Android concepts; the browser workspace keeps them close enough to inspect together.

Java editor + XML editor

Write Android Java and layout XML with syntax highlighting, indentation, undo/redo, supported diagnostics, and source switching inside the same project.

MainActivity.java
Button save = findViewById(R.id.save);
save.setOnClickListener(v -> status.setText("Saved"));

XML ID Lens

IDs from the active XML layout are surfaced beside Java work so R.id references are easier to trace without memorizing names or jumping between files.

R.id.saveR.id.statusR.id.title

Kodari Complete

Supported code suggestions stay near the editor. Problems remain visible instead of disappearing behind generated code, so the learner still owns the fix.

button.setsetOnClickListener(...)setEnabled(boolean)setText(CharSequence)

Managed AndroidManifest.xml

The Manifest remains visible and read-only while Kodari safely registers and removes supported Activities based on the project structure.

<activity android:name=".MainActivity">

</activity>

XML Visual Designer

Work with supported Android views and properties visually while keeping the XML source authoritative and available for direct editing.

XML shape drawables

Supported solid fills, gradients, strokes, corner radius, and shape backgrounds can appear in Designer and Virtual Preview.

Device local

Start without an account and keep supported projects on the current device.

Cloud projects

Signed-in users can use Kodari's supported Cloud project path for saved work across devices.

Source-enabled sharing

Publish a frozen project snapshot with source visibility and remix permission controlled by the owner.

Output-only sharing

Share the running Preview while normal source/remix UI remains hidden. This is a product restriction, not cryptographic secrecy.

Current release scope
